Hot Weather Advice for the Butterfly Walk
July 2026
We are going ahead with tomorrow’s Summer Butterfly Walk and look forward to welcoming you to Banstead Heath. However, in light of the continued hot weather, and with tomorrow forecast to be the hottest day of the week, we would like to provide you with some important guidance:
- Bring plenty of water with you.
- Take rest breaks where needed and sip water frequently to stay hydrated.
- Dress appropriately for the heat—lightweight, breathable, sweat-wicking clothing is recommended. A sun hat is also essential.
- Our gazebo will be available to provide shade, along with stools for seating. If you need to rest at any point, please alert a member of BCC staff.
To help ensure everyone’s comfort and safety, we will maintain a slow walking pace and aim to finish between 12:15pm and 12:30pm. Please note this is earlier than the originally advertised finish time of 1:00pm.
Please take a moment to consider whether the conditions are right for you. If you have any concerns about attending in the heat, we encourage you to make the decision that feels safest and most comfortable for you.
