Our Staff
The Conservators employ a team of four staff under the management of the Clerk to the Conservators. Our small team undertakes statutory duties, delivers practical management on Banstead Commons and organises public engagement and volunteer opportunities.
Lucy Shea
Clerk and General Manager
Lucy joined Banstead Commons Conservators in 2019. In her role as Clerk and General Manager, Lucy oversees all activities of the Conservators including statutory responsibilities, the delivery of practical management on the Commons and staff management.
Gary Burford
Senior Keeper
Gary joined the Conservators in 2007. Gary leads the practical management duties across the four sites that make up Banstead Commons and is responsible for the maintenance and safe operation of agricultural machinery and tools.
Keeper
Our Keeper works together with the Senior Keeper in managing the Commons in accordance with management prescriptions and work programme.
Lisa Taylor
Assistant Clerk
Lisa joined the Conservators in December 2023. Lisa works part-time and gives administrative support to the team and helps the Clerk and General Manager to identify funding opportunities and increase our public engagement activity in the local community.
