Dedication benches on Banstead Commons

Banstead Commons hold a special place in the hearts of our local community, and from time to time, requests are received for the dedication of benches and similar features across the Commons.

As the Conservators have a statutory responsibility to preserve and protect the Commons for both people and wildlife, this policy has been introduced to ensure that dedication opportunities are offered in a way that maintains the natural beauty and character of the landscape.

Benches are made by Banstead Commons Conservators using natural resources taken from the Commons. The sponsorship of a dedication bench will cost £300 for existing benches and £600 for new or replacement benches; cost includes installation and will last for 10 years.
